全部拍賣 / Miscellaneous / Goebel Artis Orbis -Set - Gustav Klimt - Bowl - Porcelain - Art Nouveau
Goebel Artis Orbis Gustav Klimt “Stoclet Frieze” Bonbonnières – Pair – 1980s – In near mint/ never used condition – No reserve. A beautiful and highly decorative pair of Goebel Artis Orbis porcelain bonbonnières, featuring two different iconic designs from Gustav Klimt’s celebrated Stoclet Frieze. The larger bonbonnière is decorated with the swirling ornamental motifs of “Expectation / Fulfilment”, while the smaller piece features the richly geometric “Tree of Life” composition. Both are executed in crisp white porcelain with extensive gilded decoration, colourful details and distinctive sculptural loop finials. The combination of the two different designs makes this an especially attractive collector’s set. The architectural, almost jewel-like forms and lavish gold decoration perfectly capture the decorative character of Klimt’s Art Nouveau aesthetic. The pieces are marked Goebel Artis Orbis, Germany, and are in mint, new condition. Klimt’s Stoclet Frieze, created for the Palais Stoclet in Brussels between 1905 and 1911, is one of the defining achievements of his Golden Period. Its spirals, mosaic-like geometry and luxuriant gold ornamentation have become synonymous with Klimt’s distinctive visual language.
