Singer 48K Sewing machine - Iron

For the true enthusiast, collector and/or restorer: a unique piece of Singer history from the absolute introduction year 1900. This specific model was launched at the start of the 20th century, which means you are bidding on an exemplar from the very first production year! Uniieke esthetiek with 'Ottoman' paintings The deep black cast-iron housing is adorned with the iconic and highly sought-after 'Ottoman' (Ottoman Carnation) decals. This beautiful, historic floral motif gives the machine its unmistakable Victorian charm. The gold transfers have developed a lived-in, authentic patina over the decades. The official serial number 9733045 is clearly readable and confirms the early dating from 1900. What makes this early machine extra special is the completely black handwheel. Whereas later versions were often equipped with shiny, nickel-plated wheels, this early gem still bears the original, sober cast-iron wheel. Perfect basis for restoration to new condition The machine is in a fair, original state and the mechanism still runs exceptionally smoothly with the wooden hand crank. If you ever want to bring the machine back to absolute factory-new condition, this is the ultimate candidate: the specific 'Ottoman' restoration decals (sticker sets) are readily available online, making a full cosmetic restoration very achievable! Completely delivered The sewing machine sits on its original wooden base and is supplied including the beautiful, accompanying wooden dust cover.
