全部拍賣 / Arts & Graphics / The Path to the Bunker - Gary Westall
The Path to the Bunker by Gary Westall Painting 9.5 x 11.8 :: This painting was created during a plein air painting session on the Danish coast amid highly changeable and windy weather. I was drawn to the former military structure a relic of World War II that has been preserved in the landscape. The narrow path leading through the dunes directly to the structure became a key element of the composition. I painted the landscape in muted shades of green brown and ochre. The diffuse light and the heavy sky reflect the gloomy weather and reinforce the impression of tranquility and desolation. I found the contrast between today’s peaceful natural surroundings and the visible traces of human history particularly interesting. Signed lower right. Oil on linen mounted on aluminum Dibond—30 x 24 cm. :: Type: Painting Medium: Oil Style: Impressionist Subject: Landscape Width: 9.5 Height: 11.8 Depth: 0.2 Weight: 0.5 lbs Framed: no :: All art on Zatista is original and signed.
