Later, he mainly photographed fashion spreads and celebrities. In 1947, he went to the United States for the Blackstar agency and discovered California, where he did many reports on Hollywood stars like Gregory Peck, Richard Widmark, Gary Cooper, and Joan Crawford. When he returned to France in 1949, he was hired at the launch of Paris Match, for which he created the first color cover featuring a photograph of Winston Churchill. Over the course of his career, Rizzo took portraits of numerous well-known personalities, including Marilyn Monroe, Pablo Picasso, Salvador Dalí, Brigitte Bardot, Marlene Dietrich, Coco Chanel and Jack Nicholson. He later also became friends with the actor. Eldred Gregory Peck (April 5, 1916 – June 12, 2003) was an American actor. He was one of the most popular film stars from the 1940s to the 1970s. In 1999, the American Film Institute named Peck the 12th-greatest male star of Classic Hollywood Cinema. Peck was also active in politics, challenging the House Un-American Activities Committee in 1947, and was regarded as a political opponent by Richard Nixon. Lyndon B. Johnson honored Peck with the Presidential Medal of Freedom in 1969 for his lifetime humanitarian efforts. Peck died in his sleep from bronchopneumonia at the age of 87. "Yellow Sky" (La Ville abandonnée) is a 1948 American Western film directed by William A. Wellman and starring Gregory Peck, Richard Widmark, and Anne Baxter. Based on an unpublished novel by W. R. Burnett, believed to be loosely adapted from William Shakespeare's The Tempest, the plot concerns a band of reprobate outlaws who flee after a bank robbery and encounter an old man and his granddaughter in a ghost town.
